By leveraging cutting-edge experimental and computational technologies — including systems biology approaches combined with machine learning and artificial intelligence — we integrate insights from skin morphology, multi-omics data (transcriptomics, genomics, proteomics, and metabolomics), the microbiome, nutrition, lifestyle, and overall well-being.

This comprehensive approach enables the identification of disrupted networks and actionable therapeutic targets, transforming dermatology into a more precise, predictive, and personalized discipline.

Our Three Key Programs

SSF Precision Medicine Program

This encompasses the BioHub - an open-source platform designed to help skin scientists explore existing omics datasets from multiple skin diseases, and Shared Molecular Cartography - a global network dedicated to mapping the molecular landscape of skin diseases for clinical implementation.

SSF Predictive & Preventive Medicine Clinical Trial Program

Focused on designing clinical trials to identify biomarkers for disease prediction and prevention, this program employs systems medicine approaches to integrate multidimensional data from imagining, omics technology along with lifestyle and exposome data.

SSF Training Program

In collaboration with the European Dermatology Forum (EDF), we provide fellowship grants for physician-scientists who wish to gain expertise in big data technologies, empowering the next generation of dermatology innovators.
